Professional Tax
Professional Tax in Tripura
A state levy that employers deduct from salaries and pay to the state, at the slabs of the state where the employee works.
Tripura Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Taxation Act, 1997

Due dates
An annual return in Form VII for each financial year, by 30 April after the year ends, with the full tax paid before filing.
Registration
An employer applies for registration within 90 days of becoming liable to pay tax.
Bands on monthly gross income, in force from 25 July 2018 as corrected on 30 October 2018: ₹1,800 a year in the middle band and ₹2,496 a year in the top band.
