Professional Tax
Professional Tax in Nagaland
A state levy that employers deduct from salaries and pay to the state, at the slabs of the state where the employee works.
Nagaland Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Taxation Act, 1968

Due dates
The employer files a return for each month in the prescribed form and pays the tax with it.
Registration
An employer applies within 90 days of becoming liable to pay tax. Registration has been online since 1 October 2025.

Labour Welfare Fund in Nagaland
A small contribution from employees and employers to the state's welfare board, paid in the months the state's Act names.
